PE and Technology

  1. Thought your video was great. As a fellow PE teacher I couldn't agree more with your point about using technology to supplement the curriculum, not define it. As I have said in other postings...I believe this new push for technology is fine as long as it is balanced. Too much of anything is no good!

  2. I agree too with technology and supplementing it into the curriculum. I never thought about the use that it could play in the P.E department but you bring up valid points. I actually use a heart rate monitor when I run/workout and it is a really cool tool to track what you are doing in terms of miles/calories burned as well as track your heart rate. This would be very useful in the class and I think it would help get the students moving.

  4. Sean,

I loved the idea of using technology in a PE class. Our students are using all these different forms of technology already so why not incorporate it into their classes. This would allow you to reach more students because you are differentiating your teaching. Great Job man!

  5. Sean, well done. Technology can be the hook or engaging tool, but it still comes down to teaching, learning, and focusing on understanding. Your video makes that point loud and clear.
